Southeast Adventures has secured properties for turkey hunting in some of Florida’s finest back woods. We take only small groups into out turkey camps so that we can give our full attention to our hunters. If you are booking a two person trip you and your companion will be our only turkey hunters in our camp at that time. We try to only harvest mature tom turkeys, but will make an exception for junior hunters. Hunting property will be pre scouted for mature birds. We will start our day before daylight, break for lunch and return to the hunt for your trophy tom. If you tag out early we can make arrangements for a boar hunt or fishing trip.
Seasons – Spring turkey hunting starts on the first Saturday in March and ends the first week in April.
Turkey hunting requires a lot of hunting, so we recommend that all of our clients be in good physical condition. For this hunt you will need full camouflage clothing in a dark green pattern. The clothing should comprise of long sleeve shirts and pants, gloves, hat and a face mask. We might come across water so it would be a good idea to have waterproof hiking boots, preferably knee high. Since temperatures fluctuate and the humidity is high in South Florida we suggest that you include various forms of camouflage rain gear; which might include a light and heavy camouflage jacket.
We currently do not allow non-hunting visitors along on the hunt, but there are great accommodations in the Orlando area with plenty of activities to do. We do make exceptions for junior hunters and always make exceptions for youth hunters.
We recommend 12 gauge or larger. Guns should be in a camouflage pattern or dark flat finish. Any shiny parts should be covered with a camouflage tape.
We have numerous taxidermists that we recommend and can handle the complete process including the mount and paperwork. We can arrange to ship your turkey to the taxidermist if you rather. A whole frozen turkey next-day air to most states runs approximately $150 to $250, depending on the state.
For two hunters it is $3,000, which includes three days of hunting and two nights’s lodging. We require a 50% deposit to confirm your reservation upon booking.
There is no guide fee; however a $100 deposit is required on all hunting packages.
